What’s the main reason that causes Titan tankless water heaters to fail?

What’s the main reason that causes Titan tankless water heaters to fail?

One of the main reasons a tankless water heater malfunctions is due to sediment. Accumulation of sediment deposits in the heating elements of the tankless water heater can interfere with the transfer of heat to the water. When the sediment gathers around the heated part of the heating element it acts as an insulator that causes insufficient hot water problems.

Low hot water pressure can also be accounted for accumulation of sediment inside the tankless water heater.

The worst case scenario occurs when sediment builds up in the tankless water heater’s activation system. That can lead to the water heater heating the water continuously and uncontrollably, which in turn, my damage the heating elements, the SCRs or triacs, and ultimately trip the thermostat to protect the water heater and the property from incurring bigger damages.

It's recommended to install an inexpensive sediment filter to protect and prolong the life of your valuable tankless water heater. Click the following link to see where to install the sediment filter in our tankless water heater installation diagram.
